Firearms Unknown - 2017 EOTech Dealer of the Year

“Pricing, knowing how the product works, and a great product like it is, it sells itself,” said sales manager Grover from the National City store.

This year at SHOT Show, Firearms Unknown had the distinct honor of being acknowledged as the 2017 EOTech Dealer of the Year.

While Firearms Unknown operates and maintains an online store, credit for EOTech sales goes to their two brick and mortar stores in Oceanside and National City.

I talked with the sales managers and team to get an understanding of what it takes to be the top seller, and their answers speak well for not just the stores and it’s employees, but the product.

“Pricing, knowing how the product works, and a great product like it is, it sells itself,” said sales manager Grover from the National City store.

You’ll be hard pressed to find a lower price on EOTechs than at Firearms Unknown, and if you do it’s probably a cheap knock off or damaged goods. Not offering them at huge mark ups gets customers in the door.

But sales goes further than just getting foot traffic and having a captive audience. The team at Firearms Unknown has also earned a lot of trust from their customer base due to the fact that the people you’re talking to use the products they sell and know how they operate.

“[Customers] see it’s what you’d put on your rifle,” said Andrew. It’s not just about being trained in selling a product; it’s the knowledge and experience one gets from using a product that’s key. They can explain how it works, its advantages, and how superior it is to other products they’ve used. On why he uses an EOTech, Andrew says, “It’s the qualities of the product itself - long lasting, durability - it’s easy to sell.”

They’ve also sold EOTechs and their upper receivers as part of a packaged deal, a one stop shop to complete your rifle.

With all these factors working together, they couldn’t keep them on the shelves, estimating units sold to be in the hundreds.

“It’s just a better product,” Grover said.
