In effect, if the right to bear arms is nothing more than a collective right of a state, then the state government gets to decide what it will allow you to be armed with, or if it will allow you to be armed at all
Five more names can be added to the list of nobodies who want to take your guns.
The Senate of the State of Hawaii just passed a resolution asking the United States Congress to repeal the Second Amendment or to amend it by clarifying that the right to bear arms is a “collective” right instead of an “individual” right, as the Supreme Court decided in Heller.
In effect, if the right to bear arms is nothing more than a collective right of a state, then the state government gets to decide what it will allow you to be armed with, or if it will allow you to be armed at all.
At least they’re attempting to do this the constitutional way, and they likely will not be successful, but they’re no longer attempting to hide their intentions anymore.
